I've been working on "Memorial" pieces for the women in my family I have never met. I used this pattern for my Irish great grandmother, who give birth to ten children and died at 49 years in 1900 in Philadelphia. As I stitched it, I tried to guess what her life was really like. Somehow, I cannot. The piece was easy, and I really enjoyed making it.
