Note from the designer - "This is a classic example of an American sampler that has been strongly influenced by needlework design taught at Quaker schools. Likely it was not worked at one of the Quaker schools that flourished from New York to Virginia for more than two hundred years: the linen is coarser than what was supplied by the schools, and the workmanship is somewhat crude. The Roman style alphabets and partial floral/geometric medallions, however, definitely suggest Quaker influence. Stitches used are cross, long-arm cross, eyelet, and queen." Rated for beginners.
