I ran across a quote by Thucydides recently that essentially said the secret to happiness is freedom and the secret to freedom is courage. It occurred to me that so much of our freedom rides on the back of the courage of others, which we all too often take for granted. And, in taking the courage of others for granted, we often forget that we must be courageous ourselves. So in the midst of those musings, this little pattern was born.
The entire pattern is executed in cross stitch and is thus beginner friendly and Aida cloth compatible. The model is stitched on 40 Count Patriot's Brew hand-dyed linen by R & R Reproductions using one strand of the called-for over-dyed threads. Stitch Count: 128w X 88h. Finished size is 6.4" x 4.4" for 40 count fabric.
