Note from the designer - A Quaker Pattern Book is an accordion-style book inspired by old pattern books. In addition to the front and back cover, there are eight more pages of stitched alphabets, borders, and motifs. The motifs in this book are from Ackworth School, one of the most famous Quaker schools. It is located in Yorkshire in northern England.
The model was cross stitched over one linen thread on 28 Ct. Antique Ivory linen using one ply of Milady's Teal from Classic Colorworks. Per the chart, use "5, 5-yard skeins. This does not allow for any waste, so you might want to buy 6 skeins to be assured that you have enough tread." We have associated 6 skeins for this. The book hinges are made from Artic Ice Dark silk satin ribbon from Gloriana Threads. The recommended amount of linen is 22-1/2" x 11".
Stitches used: cross stitch and backstitch.
Stitching directions, charts, and detailed assembly instructions are included. A short essay on Ackworth School and its needlework is also included.
