Not an absolute must but it is very handy. Although, if you had a small container and a magnet you could make this yourself.

I love to throw a few of these into my travel kits, so I don't lose the needles. I have marked the needle sizes on the back with a Sharpie so I know what is what. Really handy!

These tiny boxes are magnetized and will hold at least a dozen needles. The lid snaps closed and there's never any searching for my needles. It's small enough to fit in your pocket, purse or project bag. Thanks 1-2-3!!!

Haha, who'd have thought such a little thing could make such a difference! I love this little case, my needles are all in one spot now and the magnet keeps them from flying all over when I open it up. Perfect!

These needle keepers are awesome! I have been a stitcher for 35 years and have kept my needles in various little tubes that were designed to hold needles. I bought a bunch of these cases to hold various sizes of tapestry needles. I used a label maker to indicate what size was in each keeper
