This was a fun Thanskgiving-inspired piece to design, as it combined a little patriotism and the reminder to be grateful for our country and God's blessings on her. The verse reads "I give to this beloved land my grateful heart and willing hand."
Winter Folk is the final design in the Four Seasons Folk series. Thank you for coming on this seasonal journey with me. We end the series with paper whites, pine cones, frosty forests & 3 new specialty stitches.
The models were stitched over 2 threads on 32 ct Driftwood Belfast (Fabrics by Stephanie) with DMC floss. Stitch count is 53 x 190. Finished size is 3.31" x 11.88".

I love the deep colors of this design, which I do associate with autumn. And I took a bit of artistic license with the flamingo - juvenile flamingos are white and they've always felt a bit "spooky" to me. Stitched on 32 ct. Antique Ivory Linen by Zweigart using Pirate Robin Designs hand-dyed cotton thread in the color Dark Copper. I used this variegated floss and chose the color placement. Two 10yd. skeins are recommended if stitching with two strands.

This is the second in the seasons pincushion series, and I think my favorite part about this chart is the Bible verse: Proverbs 31:21 - "She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet." I think that is just the loveliest verse!
