Cross stitch pattern from Heart's Ease Examplar Workes featuring a home with the phrase "But oh...to live in a rose covered cottage on a hill overlooking the sea, Where I'd patiently watch the tall ships sailing by "til my love returns safely to me"!
The models were all stitched on a #32 Antique White Belfast linen. The finished size of each one is approximately 1.9" W x 2.6" H. DMC fibers were used along with a number of Mill Hill beads: #00557, #40332 and #42043. The stitch count is approximately 30 W x 42 H for each ornament.
Note from designer "I have known since I started this Cottage series that my Summer design, the third in the series, would be based on beach cottages. The pretty blues and turquoises make me think of the Gulf of Mexico and the bright coral colors are the perfect contrast!"

Fall Cottages brings us to the last Cottage in this series and uses the warm browns and golds of late autumn, when the bright colors are almost gone. The squirrels are racing to fill up their bellies and nests with acorns and other goodies to help them get through the winter.
