Christian wrought her sampler sometime between 1800 and 1805, using a vibrant palette. The pattern includes a history of her family.

Pattern is stitched on 40 ct. Cedar River Maple Bar with Weeks Dye Works floss (DMC conversion included). The stitch count is 111 x 173 and the finished size is 5.55" x 8.65".
The Sanxing symbolize the three attributes that constitute a good life in Chinese culture. They are Fu (good fortune), Lu (prosperity) and Shou (longevity). A stylized depiction of Lu is shown here with peonies which are often called the king of flowers and are associated with wealth and prosperity.

Model was stitched on 40 ct. White Zweigart fabric using DMC floss. Stitch Count: 62 x 106 and the finished size is 3.1" x 5.3".
And to finish out the trio, here we have a stylized depiction of Shou is shown here with chrysanthemums which are associated with health and longevity.
