All of my life I have associated the phrase "sweet land of liberty" with a romantic view of the family farm. (I grew up in the midwest on a farm, though not as a farmer, so maybe that's why.) This pattern is a nod to that association.

These little pin pillows are companions to Red Bull and Odd Bird. The "Happy 250th" pillow features a three-tiered birthday cake flanked by two birds that were inspired by a motif on the main sampler. The birds are happily waving sparklers, which are worked in a long-stitch.
