Cosmo 6 strand embroidery floss is made from the best grade of Egyptian Cotton, which is why it has a texture equal to that of silk with its luxurious sheen. Cross-stitching: we recommend 1-ply on 30 count or finer, 2-ply on 28 count linen, 4-ply on 18 count. Needlepoint: we recommend 4-ply on 18 count canvas and 6 to 8 ply on 12 to 13 count canvas.

A 12-ply silk that is composed of three 4-ply bundles twisted together. The twist of each individual strand is tighter than most silks making it easier to use.
