Take the math out of cutting half-square triangles (adding 7/8 inch to the finished size). Solid black lines are marked at 7/8; 1 7/8; 2 7/8; 3 7/8; 4 7/8; and 5 7/8 inches so it is easy to cut the squares and strips needed to create half-square triangles that finish 1 to 5 inches.
