I've selected my favorite parts of an antique sampler in my collection and combined them to create this smaller adaptation. My favorite part is that thick border at the bottom!

Pattern is stitched on 36 count Affogato linen by Fiber on a Whim using DMC floss. Stitch Count: 170 wide x 104 high

Many antique sampler motifs have been used in this charming little stocking featuring a red house, borders, trees and reindeer.

Pattern is stitched on either 36 ct Flax over 2 threads or 25 ct flax over one thread. Stitch Count: 73 W x 78 H. Finished size: 4.05 x 4.3 over 2 threads and 2.9 x 3.2 over one thread.

Pattern is stitched on 36 ct Antique White over two threads or over one thread on 35 ct White Lugana and 28 ct White Cashel using Classic Colorworks, Weeks Dye Works, and DMC threads. Stitch Count: 61 W x 60 H. Finished size:

Model stitched on 30 ct Linen or 30 ct Morris Blue from Weeks Dye Works using DMC thread. Stitch counts are 41 x 74 (girl) or 42 x 51 (boy).

This sampler is a unique and colorful German sampler. It contains picturesque scenes typical of German samplers.

The model was stitched on Tabbycat "Cockleshell" with Weeks Dye Works floss. DMC equivalents are included. The design is stiched in cross stitch over 2. Stitch count: 259 (w) x 252 (h)

This sampler is an adaption from the Harmon Museum in Lebanon Ohio. Lydia stitched her sampler on linen with wool floss. She was 11 years old at the time.

The model was stitched Linen with Gentle Arts Wool threads. Stitch count: 125 (w) x 145 (h).

This design is a modern design in the style of Traditional Samplers. It celebrates Spring because that is where Australia is headed next! There are deer, birds, bunnies, butterflies, a dog and cat enjoying the new fruits and flowers of the season.

Sampler Model is stitched on 18 count Bush Scrub fabric by Paddock Lane Designs. Stitch count 160x90.

Vintage Farmhouse Sampler was originally featured in the Summer 2024 issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects. Vintage Farmhouse Sampler is stitched on 36 count Wheat linen by Fiber on a Whim, one strand of floss over two linen threads. Stitch count is 208w x 133h.

Black Bird Sampler is stitched on 36 count Ale linen by Picture this Plus, one strand of floss over two linen threads. Stitch count is 178w x 187h.

Winter Garden at Cranberry Manor is stitched on 36 count Wren linen by Picture this Plus, one strand of floss over two linen threads. Stitch count is 118w x 108h.

Armande stitched her sampler from 1888 to 1891, it is actually very finely stitched and the original measures only 37 cm x 34 cm (14.6 inch x 13.4 inch). Multiple motifs are inserted among the alphabets. Stitch count is 491 x 439.

Pattern is stitched on 32 count Belfast linen vintage country mocha by Zweigart with Romy's Creations threads with DMC converions. Stitch count is 98 x 161.

Pattern is stitched on 32 ct Parchment linen using Weeks Dye Works floss. Stitch count is 186 x 190 stitches.

Stitched on your choice of fabric using DMC, Gentle Art, Threadworx, Classic Colorworks, and Weeks Dye Works threads. Stitch count is 179w X 129h. Finished size on 32 count: 16 x 13.

Note: DMC 437 can be used instead of Thrteadworx Sunset.

Pattern is stitched on 18ct Valor by Picture this Plus using Weeks Dye Works & Gentle Arts floss. Stitch count is 70 x 70.

The stitching in this beautiful sampler with the sacred hearts includes the name Malvina Roisset and the date 1891. I think Marie Louise Malvina Roisset, who would have been 10 years old in 1891, could very well be the stitcher.

Pattern is stitched on 36ct linen using Caron Impressions. Stitch count is 166 x 172. Finished size is 10" x 10".
