This pattern contains one large sampler design and three small designs adapted from an antique sampler by Wendy Peatross.
Pattern is stitched on 36 count Gray linen from Weeks Dye Works with Weeks Dye Works over dyed cotton threads. The smalls are finished with mini rick rack around the edge. The Sweet Home piece could also be finished as a drum.
The large sampler has a stitch count of 210 x 58 with a finished size of 11.66" x 3.22".
The smalls have stitch counts of 45 x 45 with a finished size of 2.5" squares.
Collected from German, Italian, Scottish, Dutch, English, and American samplers, this book of alphabets takes off from where the previous edition, Alphabets from Early Samplers, ends. The alphabets have been fastidiously reproduced from samplers dating from 1530, to 1868. Over 80 alphabets are charted, as well as two complete alphabet samplers, one of them dating from 1725.
This antique sampler is inspired by a french designer with Christian imagery.
The model was stitched on 36 count Summer Khaki linen from Zweigart, with 1 ply of Weeks Dye Works Hand Dyed Cottons. Stitch count is 260 x 171 with a finished size of 14.44" x 9.5".
A banner from Needlework Press featuring alphabets! Model was stitched on 40 count Paperbark hand dyed linen from Fox & Rabbit and stitched with silks from Soie 100/3. DMC conversion is included in the chart. Stitch count is 436 x 40. Finished size is 21.8" x 2".
