Designer: Hello From Liz Mathews
Item: HLM-045
Type: Cross Stitch Patterns
Glee's Sampler is a beautiful piece from the collection of renowned needlework collector Glee Kreuger. Upon Glee's passing her daughter sought new homes for some of the samplers from Glee's collection and I am honored to be the guardian of this beautiful and primitive piece likely dating back to the early 1800's. Glee is the author of A Gallery of American Samplers which is a lovely addition to any sampler-lovers library.
This reproduction has been charted exactly as it is found now- missed stitched, imperfections and all. You will use straight stitches, Algerian eyelets and cross stitches to complete. Although the reproduction has not been model stitched, all of the following suggestions are made to achieve a look as close to the original as possible.
Stitched on 40 count Mocha linen by Weeks Dye Works (nearly identical color match to the original sampler which was stitched on a 24 count linen) using DMC floss (the DMC floss listed is a close match to all of the original thread colors with the exception of the blue shade which is highly variegated/aged. I suggest using Weeks Dye Works "Cadet" or Classic Colorworks "Shamrock". Alternatively mix DMC 503 and 502 would be a suitable match. The stitch count is 140 x 156 and the finished size is 7" x 7.8" .

Chart is easy to read. I’m using Week’s Dye Works cadet for the blue color. It’s going to be so cute when finished.
