Liberty Drum and Pincushion is a prim, sampler-inspired patriotic design which also honors the French aspirations of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. The centerpiece of the drum design is a tree taken from my Louise Chappuis 1844 reproduction sampler, but here, it's topped by two eagles, centered under the word Liberty. Bunting decorates the top border of the drum and surrounds the quatrefoil design on the pincushion.
Stitched on 40 count fabric using Classic Colorworks, Gentle Art, and Weeks Dye Works threads. DMC conversion also provided. Drum Stitch Count: 270 x 85
Pincushion Stitch Count: 93 x 93. Finished sizes are 13.5 in wide X 4.25 in high and 4.65 in wide X 4.65 in high.
Model stitched on 35 Ct. Parchment linen by Weeks Dye Works with Gentle Art Sampler threads, Weeks Dye Works floss, and Mill Hill Beads. Stitch Count: 69x69. Design is shown finished in a 4" round pincushion by Lone Elm Lane.

Both are stitched on 40-Count Wheat linen from Fiber on a Whim using Needlepoint Silks. The M. Lake pincushion has a stitch count of 81 Wide by 47 High. Finished size is 4.05 in wide X 2.35 in high.
Originally, I planned for these to be included in the Animals sampler design above, but the project quickly grew into something to big to be included in that chart pack.
