Ive always loved Lizzie Kate designs. They are whimsical without being too cutsey. This mystery sampler was fun and quick to stitch. The color palate is really pretty, even if at first it doesnt seem wholly traditional. Beware - there is a misprint in Part One. On one page, it lists the stitch count as 232, and on another page as 283. Unfortunately, I did not see the discrepancy in stitch count, and since I only had part one at that point, I didnt have the other pieces to check. I made my calculation based on the smaller count, added the normal 3 inches all around, cut my fabric accordingly, and started stitching 3 down. I was almost done Part One when I received the last part. Since I am not a fast stitcher, the thought of starting all over again was depressing, even though I had 123 stitch replace the fabric. Thanks 123 Stitch! I found that I could eliminate the 16 or 17 rows that made up the quilt pattern/flower band in each part and without hurting the overall concept of the sampler, it would now fit my cut fabric. If this is your issue, and you decide to eliminate design elements, please be aware that the border is not solid, so you will have to play with the math, adding or subtracting a row here to there, to get it to come out right. Fingers crossed that I did the math correctly!

Finished part 3 recently, and I can say that Lizzie Kates mystery sampler is the most fun and enjoyable project Ive stitched for a long time. Color choices, chart, and themes are perfect. I hope this designer will release another mystery sampler next yearIll be one of the first to order!
