While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

I have been looking for the past two years or so for some special ornaments to put on gifts. I have finally found them! I just finished this pumpkin and I love it. Its' the 7th one that I have done now. I have been doing needlepoint and cross stitch for years. These are so fun to do! Especially now with this pandemic. They are a great distraction to the news. I wanted to send some more ideas for patterns that I would love to see in the future. Before I had a chance to email you, I got this review email. Even though I have 70 plus ornaments on my wish list I have some themes that I would love to see in the future. I love moons, would love to see a special moon. red truck, graduation, baking, cooking, chefs hat, humming bird, more birds in general, paw print, golf, more sports, wedding, wedding dress, wedding tux, beer, friendship, knitting, initials, a house. These are just a few ideas that I had. I am addicted. Thank you for making these wonderful kits available at a reasonable price. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
