Kit Includes: Beads, treasures, 14 ct perforated paper/pvc, floss, needles, magnet, chart and instructions. Finished size: 3.5" x 2.5".

While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:

1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.

2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.

3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.

All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

A fun ornament! However, although there was the usual abundance of beads, there was no surplus of the “treasures”. One of the three in my kit had no hole!

He took about twenty hours. For the beads I used double stick tape to get the right beads out of the plastic bags then I simply picked them up with my needle. I do think it saved some time. Love this and will buy more from Mill Hill.

This is an adorable Merry Moose! However, for the small size this guy takes a lot of time to complete, due to the fact that one must stitch first and then stitch again to add the beads. It is fairly easy to complete, just give yourself enough time to complete and dont be fooled by the small size that it will stitch up quick.

Out of all the beaded ornaments I have cross stitched, this by far is my favorite. A little more challenging than others due to the green beads and green stitching on his garland, but well worth the small challenge. Also love the red bow for dimension.

It is just to cute, I laugh every time I look at it. It was a little difficult as I like to finish one color at a time and with the running look it took a lot of counting and making sure I was at the right place. I love the way the smile shows up. The 3 beads on the wreath sort of sets it off. I will be making another one soon!
