While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

This is one Mill Hill kit I have been trying to get for years. I finally got one and just love it.

This Mill Hill Mistletoe Santa bead kit has everything needed to make this 2" x 2.25" item. They label it as a pin, but I will add a beaded loop at the top to make this an ornament for my cross stitch Christmas tree. I very much like all of the MH bead kits for ornaments. Another perfect little project for me.
