While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

Have done several of these kits. It would be helpful when kit contains three different shades of the same color if instructions said how many strands of each are in the kit. All of the kits I have done include more than enough floss to complete project so I never worry if I need to cut out a knot.

This is not the first of the series of banners I have made, and this one is especially for my Snow themed Christmas this year (it will be summer down under). I have added a couple more small snowflake embellishments from my stash. Love it

This is a beautiful piece when it is finished. I have made all 6 of these for a Christmas gift for my brother and sister-in-law. These are a little time consuming but well worth the effort.

I would definitely suggest this kit to anyone who enjoys stitching seasonal ornaments or seasonal crafts in general. I am enjoying it as a newcomer to beading and cross stitch in the same kit. The instructions are excellent and easy to follow. A great kit. Thank you!
