While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

Another quality Mill Hill bead kit, perfect for summer. The cross group of beads are a bit challenging to get in, but great results when you do. A fun stitch for a summer display. I use the extra beads to make a loop for hanging instead of the magnet

A little confusing if you've not done beading before, but Mill Hill has done a good job of separating the beads for you. Some beading stitches I've not done before and I am pleased with the instructions. Just take your time in reading the diagrams and how-to details.
