O Come, O Come, Emmanuel is a 9th century Christian hymn that is traditionally sung during the Advent season leading up to Christmas. To me, it beautifully captures the anticipation and hope of the season. I designed this piece to reflect the traditional Advent wreath with its four candles that are lit in the weeks leading up to Christmas and the Christ candle that is lit on Christmas Day.
The model is stitched on 46 count White Clay linen by Fox & Rabbit using Au Ver Soie silks. I designed the piece to be finished as a pin drum. The model was finished using String Bean velveteen and Barn Door chenille trim, both by Lady Dot Creates. However, the piece would look lovely framed as well. Both are stitched on 40-Count Wheat linen from Fiber on a Whim using Needlepoint Silks. The M. Lake pincushion has a stitch count of 81 Wide by 47 High. Finished size is 4.05 in wide X 2.35 in high.
Originally, I planned for these to be included in the Animals sampler design above, but the project quickly grew into something to big to be included in that chart pack.
