Item: W2104 Type: Thread and Floss Designer: Weeks Dye Works Collection: Weeks Dye Works Floss Hand Over-Dyed Floss, Sold in 5 yard Skeins. The colors are variegated enough to be noticeable, yet subtle enough to blend naturally. Because it is pliable, this fiber is perfect for cross stitch and needlepoint on many different counts of fabric and canvas. It is also works great for punch needle (1, 3 and 6 strand) and stitching on wool applique and penny rugs. It gives a more subtle appearance to the fine stitching on applique than some of the heavier fibers like pearl cotton. |

In person this is more of a blue green. The picture seems to be dark blues. It is very pretty.

I use Weeks Dye Works thread in many of my projects. It is true to color and provides variegated striations that allow me to not have to change threads while still giving me the color differentiation and depth/texture I'm looking for.

I bought this because the pattern insisted it would really make a difference over DMC thread. I am not quite half done with the project, and I like the colors, but have not decided if it is that much better. It costs nearly five times as much. This project uses only five colors I wouldn't consider it in something that required a lot of colors. The skeins are much smaller. I should be okay on the rest, but it is touch and go whether I will have to order another of this color. If you make some mistakes and have to do something over, you might not have enough. Otherwise, I have no complaints about this thread.

I highly recommend Weeks Dye Works floss. East to separate and works up smoothly. Above all, it is COLORFAST! This is tremendous because there are no worries about it leaking onto the fabric and can be washed if the fabric gets dirty!

I've been stitching with cotton floss for over 50 years and I've used them all. Whenever a piece needs cotton floss I substitute Weeks variegated floss because of the colors and the way they gently alter. Add to that the excellent quality of the thread itself and this is a winner.
