Irises are one of my favorite flowers. As I lean towards purples and blues in general, perhaps this is not a surprise. So, it was high time that I designed a cross stitch pattern featuring this flower. An extra bonus that I recently learned: irises are the state flower of Tennessee. How perfect then to be releasing this design at Nashville!
Model stitched on 32 count linen using five ThreadworX ( 10151 Royal Blue; 10580 Dark Jade; 10582 Emerald; 011631 Brass Hardware; and 10361 Indian Brown) and two DMC (552 and 550). Stitch count is 147 x 212. Finished size is approx. 9.19 in wide X 13.25 in high.

Note from the designer: It started with the request to teach at Shepherd's Bush and the theme was garden. My brain went to our love of samplers and flowers. I envisioned alphabets dancing in the garden. There will be one for each season for a total of four different charts.

Break out the sunscreen and head to the garden! I brought in some flowers and garden plants, as well as a few animal companions to celebrate the joys of gardening. So far we haven't shared our lettuce with the rabbits, but I expect they'll find it one of these days.
