Mine is a tiny bit over 12" and tiny bit under 17". I requested and received a blue one, the mesh part is white and not blue as pictured, which I prefer. Sturdy and fits a lot of cross stitch project materials, will buy more.

I like these, but they're kind of cheaply made with thin plastic. I previously bought almost identical bags from Fat Quarter Shop of better plastic and with a smaller 2nd pocket on the front.

I bought a lot! I had not stitched since 2004 and never knew this was a 'thing'. Where have they been all my life? You can 'stuff'' everything in it and just pick the one you want to work with. the 12x17 fits even the q-snaps or hoops so you can just pick and stitch.

The bags finally arrived at the destination Thursday Jan.2nd, 2020. It is a good thing I was not in a hurry. I have not used them yet so no stars. I find the shiiping charges to Canada very high. And at times we have to pay duty on top. I try to buy Canadian as often as I can.
