I do not have a local LNS, so typically go with the called for linen on projects that aren't specifically antique reproductions. The color was wonderful and the contrast in the dying process pleasing to the eye. However, the loss of star comes from the clear unidirectional placement of the mottling. Fortunately for me the design I'm stitching is strongly horizontal while the mottling on the fabric I'm working with is strongly vertical. I'm hoping it will work out. Also worthy of note is this. There is mottling only on one side.

I love the color of this fabric and if you do not like the verigations turn it over the other side is a solid color. I have used it in many projects from Primitives to reproduction samplers. It is nice to touch and to work on.
