To add to my growing flock of birds, this piece was adapted from a French antique in my collection. The original has been adapted to simplify the colour palette and make the birds more vibrant. The original stitcher's name has been charted for those who want to include it.

On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave me a chicken (instead of a trip to Paris). This easy counted cross stitch kit is embellished with sparkling beads and sequins to make it extra special.

This cross stitch pattern is worked in one color and features a lacy border, two swans at the top and a vase with flowers in the center.
Chart recommends 36ct Ancient Blue Linen using Au Ver a Soie Soie de Paris, or Soie d'Alger thread (listed). DMC alternative is B5200. Stitch count: 257 x 349.
