In 1894, in the small town of Pouance, there lived a young girl named Lea Letourneur. Unlike many embroiderers of her time, who endlessly repeated their neat red alphabets, Lea dreamed of light, of flowers, and of birds. Stitch by stitch, her needle traced an alphabet bursting with life, bordered by a floral frieze like a festive garland. Light birds perched between the letters, messengers of freedom and joy. Lea Letourneur's sampler is not merely a work from 1894: it is a talisman of joy woven into linen, an invitation to a spring that never ends.

Stitched on Vintage Country Mocha. Stitch count is 292 x 315. Finished size is 18.25 in wide X 19.69 in high.
