Symmetry and puzzles tickle something deep down in my brain. Manipulating motifs into symmetrical designs is akin to puzzles and I truly enjoy the challenge of doing these type of designs. I began exploring English Cameo glass after a visit to a museum where I saw some extraordinary examples of this art form. Inevitably, when I find something like this that interests me, I turn it into a cross stitch pattern.

I enjoy doing color experiments in my designs and this pattern is the result of one. Using the highly variegated Weeks Dye Works Bethlehem with one coordinating DMC for each circle, it is so fun to see how a solid color brings out the different shades that make up the variegated thread.

I've always been fascinated with crows and ravens and how intelligent they are. Replicating the multi-colored jewel toned hues of a Raven, even though they look black, was both challenging and spellbinding. As befits the subject, I crafted a full, lacy, fall moon. It is the perfect way to blend... Read more

Stitched in a rich gold on deep red fabric, it features a variety of different motifs. It's a great reminder to lift your voice and your spirit in... Read more
