Inspiration for this design came from a vintage velvet tomato pincushion. Somehow that became two squirrels stitching under an acorn "bobbin" tree, an acorn basket and an acorn drum with the text "gather and stitch."

Cross stitch pattern from The Blue Flower featuring a celebration of the woods, and was particularly inspired by the lovely Pacific Northwest rainforest. Packed with native plants and animals, it gives you the feeling of being immersed in the deep green forest.
Break out the sunscreen and head to the garden! I brought in some flowers and garden plants, as well as a few animal companions to celebrate the joys of gardening. So far we haven't shared our lettuce with the rabbits, but I expect they'll find it one of these days.

I love the deep colors of this design, which I do associate with autumn. And I took a bit of artistic license with the flamingo - juvenile flamingos are white and they've always felt a bit "spooky" to me.
