Inspired by my love of libraries, this design features an open book that is sprouting flowers and mushrooms with birds and a butterfly floating above. It reads: "the very existence of libraries affords the best evidence that we may yet have hope for the future of humanity".
This Baltimore-style sampler is a tribute to the bond of sisters. The quote reads:"Beside a well one does not thirst. Beside a sister one does not despair."
Pattern is stitched on 40 count linen using Classic Colorworks and Weeks Dye Works, and DMC threads with a DMC conversion. Stitch Count: 215 x 241. Finished size is 10.75" x 12.05".
The model was turned into a quilted table mat meant for use at cross stitch retreats, but it would be just as good placed in a frame. It was inspired by the people I've met and the friends I've made at cross stitch events across the nation.
