A design inspired by an 18th-century Scottish sampler. The chart comes with the main motif seen on the cover, but also with a bonus alphabet that can be stitched underneath the design. Patterns has full crosses mainly, with a few backstitches in the gentleman's hair.

A wonderfully cheerful sampler worked by Gerritje Broekhuis in the year 1857. Gerritje worked her sampler when she was pregnant of her daughter. Another sampler from 1848 (GBH 1848) is also available. This design features only full crosses and is suitable for both linen and aida.
