Pattern is stitched on 46 ct. Dirty Teacup by Needle and Flax with Painters Threads Soie 100/3. The stitch count is 48 x 63 and the finished size is 2.08" x 2.74".
In adapting this sampler to be stitched over one and two threads of linen - instead of 1, 2, 3, and 4 as stitched by Mary - we endeavored to remain true to her composition while creating a more "stitchable" sampler. While the antique is framed, we decided to hemstitch our sampler. We are fortunate that Mary included her age, middle initial and the date she stitched her sampler.
