This is a reproduction of a French sampler. Little embroiderer Lucie embroidered a beautiful alphabet and then chose to embellish it with two trees with birds. She adorned her initial with two griffins.
Pattern is stitched on 32 ct linen using Soie d'Alger, Gentle Arts, or DMC threads. Stitch count is 310 x 262. Finished size is 19.38" x 16.38".
Small model was stitched on 14ct. Fiddler's Cloth with 3 strands of DMC. Large model was stitched on 7ct. Klostern with 6 strands of DMC.
The 7ct model uses 10 skeins of DMC 310 thread, the 14 ct model uses 4 skeins of DMC 310 thread. Stitch count is 61 x 103.
Small model was stitched on 14 ct. Fiddler's Cloth with 3 strands of DMC. Large model was stitched on 7 ct. Klostern with 6 strands of DMC.
Stitch count is 46 x 95.
These three little samplers might look familiar to some of you - My House & Country and Seeds in an Apple were some of my earliest releases and have been out of print for some time.
