This sweet reproduction of my antique sampler is 156W x 170H and would make a great addition to your sampler wall or a box top! Cross Stitch over Two only. I have included photos of the framed and and unframed sampler and discussed the framing techniques.
Model stitched one over two on 40 Ct. Parchment using Gloriana Silk Floss and Au Ver A Soie - Soie d'Alger. Stitch Count: 300W x 250H. Design Size: 13" x 10.15".
The pin cushion features the center cartouche from the 1779 RST Queen Stitch Motif sampler. Stitches are Queen and Cross Stitch over Two for the crown, letters, and date. Lovely 10 Soie d'Alger silks and 024 gold Accentuate for a bit of sparkle.
Note from the designer: I borrowed the bottom part of 7 year old Ellen Margaret Jessie Murray's charming sampler to make this pin drum. My friend Faye Riggsbee made it into a pin drum for me and she made a delightful flat berry to go with it as a gift to me. I traced the berry so I could include the template and finishing instructions. This design would work well as a pin cushion too.
A wonderfully rare Queen Stitch motif sampler from 1779! The only stitches that are not Queen Stitch are the Cross Stitch over Two initials, Crown, and date.
Pattern is stitched on 40 ct linen using Soie d'Alger threads. Stitch count is 234 x 251. Finished size is 11.7" x 12.55".
Rare Scottish Ten Commandment and Remember Thy Creator God from Hymn 91 by Isaac Watts. The sampler features Linlithgow Castle, the Tower of London, the Scottish and English Arms and so much more. Six stitches.
Pattern is stitched on 40 ct linen using Soie d'Alger threads. Stitch count is 351 x 426. Finished size is 17.55" x 21.30".
