Ellen Margaret Jessie Murray's Pin Drum - Pattern

Note from the designer: Ellen was only 7 years old and living in Edinburgh, Scotland when she stitched this charming sampler.

It is all done in Cross Stitch over 2. The model was stitched on 40 count linen with NeedlePoint Inc. Silks. Stitch count is 96 x 166. Finished size is 4.8" x 8.3".

A beautiful band sampler fit for royalty in shades of dusty blue and rose silk featuring twin hares, a crown and peacock. The pattern is cross-stitch, satin stitch and Algerian Eye. Finishing instructions are included.

Model stitched on 36 ct Linen, using Treenway silk floss. Stitch count is 260 w x 75 h. Finished size is 14.44" x 4.17".

Ellen's sampler was reproduced with an optional verse.

Pattern is stitched on the fabric of your choice but something close to 36 ct Parchment from Weeks Dye Works is recommended using your choice of red thread. Stitch count is 417 x 414. Finished size on 36 ct is 23.17" x 23".

Pattern can be stitched on Straw from Weeks Dye Works or 30 Ct Pecan Shortbread from Legacy Linen using DMC (DMC 3872 not listed), Needlepoint Silk, or Soie d'Alger threads. Stitch count is 119 x 140. Finished size on 30 Ct is 7.93" x 9.33".

This is a companion piece for the Ann Harper 1839 sampler. It includes charts for the Pin Drum and Pin Cushions, as well as full instructions for constructing the Pin Drum. This sampler is an adaptation from a sampler in my collection. This chart contains the pattern for the scissor fob shown along with all finishing instructions.

Model stitched over two threads on 36 ct Straw from Weeks Dye Works using Weeks Dye Works threads. Stitch count is 204w x 76h. Finished size is 11.33" x 4.22". Finished Size of Pinkeep: 5"w x 3.50"h.
