While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

The kit I received had brown beads for the berries which should have been holly berry red. Neither 123 Stitch nor the maker of the kit could provide the appropriate beads. Very disappointed.

This kit is not at all what was pictured. The treasures were brown and would not make it look Christmas like at all. I ended up returning it.

I had a bit of trouble with this one as the greens were too similar but in the end I ad libbed it and it came out fine.
