While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:

1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.

2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.

3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.

All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

Great kit, easy to complete. I converted the kit from the cloth to perforated white paper, to have it match my other patriotic kits. I have completed approximately 30 Mill Hill kits, since I started using Mill Hill kits.

I have wanted this series for a long time and finally decided to get all four designs. I always enjoy Mill Hill kits. Some are a little more challenging than others but that is what makes them fun.
