While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

Enjoy Mill Hill kits, not sure how many kits I have completed, at least over 10 .
I will be working on this later in the year as this will be a Christmas gift.

My granddaughter loves music so this is very appropriate for her. I made this into an ornament instead of the magnet that came with the kit. Love it.

This will be a gift for a music lover. Looks great on the fridge. Easy to follow instructions. Fun project. Glued felt not included in the kiton the back which gives it much nicer looking finish.
