While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

from United States on 11/02/2018 - Great Project i have not started this project yet, but will once i finish my other Mill Hill project. i love Mill Hill kits, everything you need is included and since this is the same size as the other two Mill Hill kits I have completed I imagine it won't take very long to complete. The beads add that extra touch that makes it really stand out. I highly recommend! I would also recommend the frame that is suggested, it really makes the project pop!
