This is an adapted reproduction of an antique English sampler, dated 1790. The sampler was embroidered by Maria Cooper in Hambledon.

The model was stitched over 2 threads on 40 Ct. Grey linen by Weeks Dye Works with Weeks Dye Works floss, Gentle Art Sampler threads and Classic Colorworks floss. Stitch Count: 361W x 405H. Finished size: 18" x 20 1/4".

We are delighted to present to you a stunning sampler that was completed by Maria Wales Newson in the year 1838 when she was 13 years old. There is much to delight your eye and needle in this Bobby Dazzler.

Stitched on your choice of fabric using DMC threads. Stitch count is 295 x 413. Finished size is 22.39 x 28.94 inches for 36 count.

We are delighted to present to you one of two samplers worked by Maria. In 1832 at the age of 7 Maria diligently worked her primer paying tribute to her parents.

Stitched on 28 ct. linen using Au Ver A Soie threads. Stitch count is 220 x 210 and the finished size is 15.71" x 15".

This colorful sampler will be a delight to stitch. Maria added some bright colors to her sampler with her birth date and date of stitching.

Stitched on Fox and Rabbit "Baked Clay" 40 ct. with 100/3 silks. Stitch count: 155 (w) x 205 (h). Finished size is 7 3/4" x 10 1/4".

Maria is a personal favorite. Her design and colors are peaceful and very relaxing to stitch. The floral bands are beautiful.

Pattern is stitched on 40 ct Vintage Buttercream from Lakeside Linens using NPI threads. Stitch count is 324 x 396. Finished size is 16.2" x 19.8".

About the Sampler: No name or year appears on this beautiful sampler to offer a clue about the maker. It is adorned with numerous Christian motifs and symbols.
