Note from the designer: This primitive marking sampler just captured my heart. The colors, the tone on tone, the rich patina and the whimsicalness of it. How can a marking sampler be whimsical you ask? Well, just look at the script K, L & M. They seem to be kicking up their heels and skipping along. Of course with a name like Susan Weeks, the foremost thought in my mind was perhaps she was an ancestor of our Weeks Dye Works family. This Susan however is elusive, as there are just too may Susan Weeks' out there. However, I did think it was appropriate to use linen & floss from Weeks! There is also a fun little needlecard project to stitch up on perforated paper.
The model was stitched over 2 threads on 40 Ct. Straw linen with Weeks Dye Works floss. Stitch Count: 237W x 57H.

I am delighted to share this antique with you. It is from 1840 of Dutch origin.
