While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

This globe is so small and intricate. I just love all these Mill Hill kits.

Super cute and easy to do. Comes with everything you need except the backing. This one and the gingerbread house are the hardest ones to do out of the set but still easy to do with very good instructions. I loved stitching them all.

All of the Mill Hill snow globe ornament kits are magical and this one is too. The toys are so cute along with the snow globe base. It is easy and lots of fun to stitch.

Love the finished product but the chart for this one was a little more difficult to read. Love the convenience of getting all necessary supplies in one packet. Hope the recipient will love it come Christmas!

I have stitched this entire collection. I got one and it was so cute and pretty that I had to get them all. Fun, easy to do. Love Mill Hill projects in general because love the sparkly touch of the beads!
