Designer: Mill Hill
Manufacturer: Mill Hill
Size: 2.5" x 3.25"
Item: MH16-1931
Type: Cross Stitch Kits

Kit includes: Beads, charms, perforated paper/pvc, floss, needles, chart and instructions. Finished size: 2.5" x 3.25"

While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:

1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.

2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.

3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.

All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

Finally got this Santa globe ornament. These mill hill kits are hard to get because as soon as they arrive, they are sold.

Haven't started it yet. I purchased the globe with the gingerbread house in it, so I thought I would get another snow globe. I am working on another one right now.

Really enjoyed stitching this! Super cute and I changed his eyes to the color blue.

Mill Hill beaded kits are so complete - I appreciate that they include good needles with them. It was fun to stitch and came out just like the picture. They had me do a beaded hanger, something I’d never thought of before but it came out great! I will be ordering another one soon. kla

This is a pretty design but is a challenge to stitch. As other reviews have stated, there is an error on the chart so one has to be careful in stitching and referring to the picture to stitch the picture correctly. It did turn out very nice!

1 star out of 5 from Tiny flag on 12/31/2019 - A Charting Nightmare!
As a very avid fan of Mill Hill projects, I am extremely sorry to have to give this pattern a bad review. The design itself is very cute, and I would usually give it 5 stars, but it is very poorly charted, which is surprising for a company that usually is so good. If I were not an expert stitcher, I could not follow this one. They made an error in one of the charting symbols, and included a small slip with supposedly a correction. However, even this slip was wrong. It said to change one symbol to another symbol, but looking at the photo, you still need this symbol elsewhere. It took me an hour to carefully examine and rechart the pattern. What a disappointment! If my littlest grandson hadnt chosen this as his ornament, I would have never stuck with it!

I have stitched this entire collection. I got one and it was so cute and pretty that I had to get them all. Fun, easy to do. Love Mill Hill projects in general because love the sparkly touch of the beads!

This kit came with a yellow slip saying one of the symbols was incorrect. If I had chosen this kit as my first project I would have never been able to finish it. Why didn't they just reprint the instruction sheet so that a beginner could do the project without having to pull out stitches. I did finish it and it is really pretty but it was the most frustrating project I have ever done and I have done lots over my 77 years.
