Note from designer: George Wishart Creighton was born 22 June 1856 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The words Native American (with emphasis on the capitalization of the N and A) on the sampler refer not to George's lineage but rather to a group of Protestants. We believe that the motif immediately to the right of the words Native American is a harp, referring to the "Tune thy harp to praise" stitched on the piece.

Pattern is stitched on 18 ct Aida using DMC floss. Stitch count is 155 x 105. Finished size is 8.61 in wide X 5.83 in high.
