This is indeed a very large sampler - 20" by 26 1/2" when using 40 count fabric - but it is so beautiful. The closeups included in the directions are gorgeous. The charting is thorough and dense. I recommend xeroxing the sheets (since you will be referring to them frequently) and storing the originals. I enjoyed Theresa Venette's commentary detailing her creation of this reproduction. I had sworn that I would never again do petit point, but thankfully it only seems to appear in the verse and the original stitcher's name & date. The colors of the threads, the whimsey of the "eggs on the lawn", the great variety of the motifs; all combine to make an extremely rewarding project.

Haven’t worked it yet, but this sampler has inspired me to try stitching my first piece on linen instead of Aida cloth.
