Cross Stitch PatternsNote from the designer - This sampler takes its name from the town of Blairgowrie, located in the region of Perthshire in the center of Scotland. The town, with its red stone buildings, grew rapidly due largely to the town's location on the banks of the River Ericht. In the 18th century the Blairgowrie area became a huge center for growing flax. It seems only fitting that this sampler, which was created in the style reminiscent of old Scottish samplers, should take its name from a Scottish town with such a rich textile history.
The model was stitched over 2 threads on 36 Ct. Light Examplar from Lakeside Linens with Needlepoint Inc silks. Stitch Count: 213W x 281H. Finished size: 11.8" x 15.6"
Stitches used: cross stitch, alternating double cross, backstitch, closed herringbone, double running, four-sided, and smyrna cross. Stitch diagrams are provided.
