You can almost smell the fragrant orange blossoms on this design! Using a unique palette of soft orange and lavender, this verse from Nehemiah is displayed both boldly and gently. The blooms are dancing joyfully around the words, paired with the citrus fruits for a special color balance.

Note from the designer: This was inspired by the traditional sampler motif of the "berry bowl" but I've filled my basket with birds and eggs! The bowl itself is more like a woven nest, to continue the theme (and give stitchers a chance to play with variegated floss).
Don't you love the sound of hippity, hop. I do and I see hopping bunnies around and playing chicks in the spring. With those words, this design came to mind.

My lace design series are all patterns that have been inspired by old pieces of lace. A number of stitchers have shared with me their wish for a design in this series that would be a little smaller than many of the others, and so the idea for Lovely Lace was born.
I enjoy doing color experiments in my designs and this pattern is the result of one. Using the highly variegated Weeks Dye Works Bethlehem with one coordinating DMC for each circle, it is so fun to see how a solid color brings out the different shades that make up the variegated thread.
