The pattern was stitched on 40 ct. Natural Brown linen with Gloriana Silks and NPI silk floss. The stitch count is 210 x 118 and the finished size is 10.50" x 5.90".
Not only do I love the colors Agness used to stitch her sampler but I love how she ran out of room to stitch the date 1844 so she moved the last 4 up to another line.

The verse on this sampler is from "O Christmas Tree" a German Christmas song written in 1824 by Ernst Anschutz. This song was based off a 16th century Silesian Folksong by Melchior Franck called Ach Tannenbaum. Third in the series of samplers with lots of fun stitches.
