This adorable tiny necklace by Notforgotten Farm is perfect for celebrating America's birthday in July.

Model is stitched on 28 ct. Straw Gingham Linen from Weeks Dye Works with DMC floss. The stitch count is 37 x 62 and the finished size necklace shown is approx 2 1/2" x 1 3/4".

Here we find an alphabet intertwined with irises, religious symbols with singular shapes, and a border of stylized roses that seems to whisper the elegance of days gone by.

National Female Model School Sampler - Kildare Place, Dublin circa 1820

This pattern has 1 specialty stitch - the Satin Stitch. And the small alphabet at the top and the small letters at the bottom are stitched over 1 thread of linen. Elisabeth LeConte, 1786 is a reproduction of an antique sampler I found here in Maryland. This was a teaching piece at the 2023 Sunshine Stitchers Retreat in Florida last spring.
